Terms of Service

1. Agreement to terms

By creating an account or using Katie AI OS (“Katie,” “the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Katie AI OS.

2. Description of service

Katie is a work operating system that helps you organise tasks across time horizons, maintain structured context across AI tools, and keep work moving. The Service includes task management, AI Context creation, document upload and summarisation, and AI-powered work evaluation features.

3. Account registration

You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must be at least 16 years old to use Katie. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.

4. Your content

You retain full ownership of all content you create or upload to Katie, including tasks, AI Contexts, descriptions, links, and file attachments (“Your Content”). By using the Service, you grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display Your Content solely for the purpose of providing and improving the Service.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload and use any content you add to Katie. Do not upload content that infringes on third-party intellectual property rights.

5. AI processing

Katie uses artificial intelligence to provide features such as document summarisation, task evaluation, and context generation. To deliver these features, relevant portions of Your Content may be sent to third-party AI providers (currently OpenAI) for processing. This processing is subject to our Privacy Policy.

AI-generated outputs (summaries, evaluations, suggestions) are provided as-is and may not always be accurate. You should review AI outputs before relying on them for important decisions.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Katie to:

Violate any applicable laws or regulations. Upload malicious software, viruses, or harmful code. Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or its infrastructure. Use the Service to store or transmit content that is unlawful, threatening, abusive, or otherwise objectionable. Interfere with the operation of the Service or impose an unreasonable load on our infrastructure. Resell, sublicence, or redistribute the Service without our written permission.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

7. Service availability

We aim to keep Katie available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We will make reasonable efforts to provide advance notice of planned downtime.

8. Intellectual property

Katie AI OS, including its design, code, features, branding, and documentation, is owned by Katie AI OS and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks, logos, or branding. Your Content remains yours as described in Section 4.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Katie AI OS and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or business opportunities arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising from these terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will meet your specific requirements or that AI-generated outputs will be accurate, complete, or reliable.

11. Termination

You may stop using Katie and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, with notice where reasonably practicable. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We will delete Your Content within 30 days of account deletion, except where retention is required by law.

12. Changes to terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via email or a prominent notice within the product at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of Katie after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. If you do not agree, you should stop using the Service and delete your account.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.
